چکیده

A secret sharing scheme permits a secret to be shared among participants in such a way that only qualiied subsets of participants can recover the secret. If any non qualiied subset has absolutely no information about the secret, then the scheme is called perfect. Unfortunately, in this case the size of the shares cannot be less than the size of the secret. Krawczyk 9] showed how to improve this bound in the case of computational threshold schemes by using Rabin's information dispersal algorithms 14], 15]. We show how to extend the information dispersal algorithm for general access structure (we call access structure, the set of all qualiied subsets). We give bounds on the amount of information each participant must have. Then we apply this to construct computational schemes for general access structures. The size of shares each participant must have in our schemes is nearly minimal: it is equal to the minimal bound plus a piece of information whose length does not depend on the secret size but just on the security parameter.

Security Analysis of a Hash-Based Secret Sharing Scheme

Secret sharing schemes perform an important role in protecting se-cret by sharing it among multiple participants. In 1979, (t; n) threshold secret sharing schemes were proposed by Shamir and Blakley independently. In a (t; n) threshold secret sharing scheme a secret can be shared among n partic-ipants such that t or more participants can reconstruct the secret, but it can not be reconstructed b...

A Fast Publicly Verifiable Secret Sharing Scheme using Non-homogeneous Linear Recursions

A non-interactive (t,n)-publicly veriable secret sharing scheme (non-interactive (t,n)-PVSS scheme) is a (t,n)-secret sharing scheme in which anyone, not only the participants of the scheme, can verify the correctness of the produced shares without interacting with the dealer and participants. The (t,n)-PVSS schemes have found a lot of applications in cryptography because they are suitable for<...

Secret Sharing Made Short

A well-known fact in the theory of secret sharing schemes is that shares must be of length at least as the secret itself. However, the proof of this lower bound uses the notion of information theoretic secrecy. A natural (and very practical) question is whether one can do better for secret sharing if the notion of secrecy is computational, namely, against resource bounded adversaries. In this n...

Efficient Secret Sharing Schemes Based on Unauthorized Subsets

We propose efficient secret sharing schemes realizing general access structures. Our proposed schemes are perfect secret sharing schemes and include Shamir’s (k, n)-threshold schemes as a special case. Furthermore, we show that a verifiable secret sharing scheme for general access structures is realized by one of the proposed schemes. key words: (k, n)-threshold scheme, general access structure...
